They say that Opera loads faster than FF or IE, but IE loads faster than Opera or FFox since they both need a few seconds to startup from a fresh reboot.Part of IE is preloaded when Windows starts up, just in background (google prefetch). When you click (double click) on the icon, it will start way quicker. However; iirc there is a way to prefetch Firefox. Unsure about Opera but I assume its possible

BOB: I had noticed that when I had CCleaner set to run at boottime, I had a longer load of almost everything, so I removed that default to run it at boot time and things load a lot faster...just a thought.

If cookies are removed it just seems that the pages loaded or were built much slower.

493924 2006-10-25 20:07:00 The way to prefetch firefox or any other program for that matter all you need to do is right click on the programs shortcut icon go to properties then in the target line at the very end of it put a space the type /prefetch:1 then click apply. Then you will notice firefox will load alot faster :) Overdrive_5000 (4950)

Neither Opera nor FF will load faster than IE purely because IE is tightly integrated into Windows and is therefore already half loaded with Windows.

Opera and FF does, however, load webpages faster than IE nine times out of ten so perhaps this is what you are getting confused with?

Maybe if you stop using IE you won't need to re-boot so often - - -:D :D :D

493928 2006-10-25 23:26:00 I loaded V2.0 last night ... looked fine and had a good feel to it.

I like my tabs at the bottom of the page but noticed there was no way of achieving that since TabPlus is not compatible with the new version.

Reinstalled V1.5 to give me back what I had/liked. When extension updates become available then will reinstall V2.0

Tab Browser prefs has the option to put tabs down the bottom, I also like the 'non-click' mouse-over for tabbing through open pages (just call me lazy!). Note that once installed Tab browser prefs will show up in the 'tools> options' panel, you can't change any settings from the side bar 'add-ons' menu.

493931 2006-10-26 03:59:00 Well, I have installed Firefox 2.0 on three computers. Two of them work fine and updated my extensions without trouble. Unfortunately, the main PC could not connect to Mothership Mozilla as part of the installation process, so nothing was updated. It subsequently would not connect with any url...

After trying everything I could think of, I uninstalled it (manually removing all of the folders left over after the uninstall). I installed v1.5 and it too cannot connect with anything.

I even tried a system restore, but that didn't help. Firefox is listed in the firewall as an allowed application, but I did notice that after the update, the firewall didn't provide the usual message about "Firefox has changed since you last used it - do you want it to access the network" etc.

IE works, so does Mailwasher and Outlook, and the other two pcs on the network connect fine.

So I am reduced to using IE until I can solve this...:yuck: Any suggestions?
