493331 2007-08-25 15:14:00 This is Saturday morning for me and it's Buckwheat Zydeco for reville . (Cajon music)

Here's a YouTube of his ( . youtube . com/watch?v=gJcxtOLoXrM" target="_blank">www . youtube . com) . . . it's got Buck Owens . . but listen to Buckwheat anyway . .

This is probably a little better cut to hear ( . youtube . com/watch?v=NdIfiyvl-FA" target="_blank">www . youtube . com) . . it's called "Ma 'Tit Fille" by Buckwheat Zydeco .

He has a second band called: "The Ils Sont Partis Band" which isn't on these cuts .

I have about 40 or so Zydeco cds in my collection . . they range from silly-pop songs to downright "I'm gonna rip out my heart and stomp on it because my woman done me bad" type moods . There is some really somber and sad music too . . . . but I am listening to the upbeat stuff today .

Another good group is Zydeco Joe and the Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler Band ( . youtube . com/watch?v=9qt1RZria2k" target="_blank">www . youtube . com)

This next group is a lot more polished . . but they have some heavier back up than just a four member band . . they are called Beau Soleil, with "Zydeco Gris' Gris" ( . youtube . com/watch?v=mvXGJ8eP1B0" target="_blank">www . youtube . com) . They did the soundtrack to "The Big Easy" ( . imdb . com/title/tt0092654/" target="_blank">www . imdb . com) . . a movie out a while back (1987) with Dennis Quaid, Ellen Barkin, Ned Beatty and John Goodman .

Thought you might appreciate some Cajon music in Upsidedown Land today .

493333 2007-08-25 23:58:00 Ahh, Buckwheat Zydeco, saw them live at The Gluepot in Ponsonby (Auckland, NZ) around '94 if I remember, just before they closed the place down to make more money for their mindless shareholders. The Gluepot was the best live venue we had here in NZ now we have horrid concrete things that sound like crap and you cant get a decent beer:mad: JackStraw (6573)
