| 1431035 | 2017-01-24 05:54:00 | Panic at my sons work. The fdd died. OMG! The machine guy tried to put another control panel on it from something. Didn't help. From what he told me it sounds like an ancient DOS CAD machine, like F&P had. Had an HDD, you'd run floppy based designs into it. I had to fix that once, something happened with DOS. rather easy it was.... Anyway son says the main thing is getting the data off it. I said do they operate it using the floppies? No. So I guess it has an hdd of some kind, running something. DOS? Xenix perhaps? LOL. Whatever, if it's got an HDD no major. might be time to get a new machine though......geez, and I thought F&P was bad back then. |
