| 1432078 | 2017-02-22 21:44:00 | Thanks, wainuitech. Not a problem. I have the files on the work laptops as well, have updates disabled that way when going to someone's place don't have to be concerned with updates slowing things down. Then can turn them back on when it suits :) |

Had thought about doing those two .bat files for BH, but then this is another thing she would have to do to remember, block updates to start, that's if the pc doesn't block her straight after boot-up, then to unblock updates, for the latter she would have to leave pc on and hope it shutdown when updates have done their thing. That of course would leave the screen light on all night. Touch Wood, how come our laptop doesn't have this great pause for updates and re-start?. lurking. ps. she could of course leave the pc on when going to bed, but then again MS could burn the house down with a "short". lurks. |

| 1432080 | 2017-02-23 01:05:00 | Turned laptop on, no problems working on it and noticed 2 updates dated 23 Feb, KB4010250 and KB890830. not large files so probably didn't take much time and effort. | Lurking (218) | ||

Do a good job, you get called back for any problems that pop up, and get recommended to others =$$ I don't often put those bat files on peoples computers though, because 9 out of 10 people will disable the updates, then never re-enable, that's the story on lots of things, I can put on Ccleaner - run it, give instructions and show them, get them to do it, advise how often to run it, and its never run again until I turn up, maybe a year later  BUT one thing I do, is in W10, speed it up, stop the apps from sending info back, and its amazing how many PC's are suddenly running a LOT better. At one place today sorting out a wireless problem - one person was complaining about how slow his W10 laptop was -- {insert swear words} ;) Soon fixed that problem, took less than a minute, the longest time was Ccleaner running. Rebooted and  Man what did you do to it - Its so much better---Yep !! BTW- there's no hacking hidden settings etc, just settings most people don't know exist. :nerd: |
