1430747 2017-01-17 05:01:00 SWMBO had the exact same thing happen to her Facebook account. Here's the Hmmmm ??? She doesn't use her computer very much these days, she mainly uses her Phone or Tablet, Both Android.

Last time she used FB on her computer would have been easily 6 months ago. Its VERY common for FB to lose content then it can return at any time. One time last year, just before Xmas, just about every post, as well as all the games she plays completely went AWOL, came back a day later.

Head Office here uses her Computer and Facebook all the time, I'm surprised her Computer has time to update.

I don't have a "Facebook Page" and aren't the slightest bit interested in having one.

However, the problem occurred right after a Win10 update and my Daughter and Daughter-in-law's laptops can hook straight on to her page, using her password, and everything is in place.

Given the well documented trouble I had with Windows 10 I'm not surprised, and if it doesn't fix itself soon I can see another conversion to Mint. :D

Sounds like the Missus might have signed to FB from their machines and saved the log-in details or hasn't logged out from these machines.

Things like described can be caused by many sources . It may be some update, but I'd be more thinking it could be a browser problem, The Computer may not be clean, full of junk in the temp files or one of many other reasons . In my daily work you may be surprised how many peoples computers are full of crap, and by doing a simple clean will fix a high portion of what ever problems they are having .

Theres been times when going to some of the giveaway sites, if using Edge, Firefox the page works fine, yet try opening in chrome and theres all sorts of troubles . That example will mean its a browser .

The fact your other family members can log in to your wifes account, and see differently then that indicates something is blocking, but what ?? to many reasons as mentioned above, whats different between the families computers and your wife's-- There will be plenty, may seem minor but could be the cause .

Seen heaps of problems as well, when people don't shut down their computers, ALWAYS use sleep mode . Fixed problems MANY times by simply shutting down completely and restarting .

Often people don't give the full story as well (This forum is a really good example) .
Was at a persons place last week, what he was describing on the phone beforehand didn't sound right, got to his house and asked to demonstrate the problems, AWHHHHHHHH missed one step in the phone description .

Changing the OS simply because FB doesn't work correctly is like buying a new car because the old one ran out of petrol - Over Kill . Find, track down the fault and fix it .

Don't think so.

1: Immediately prior to the Windows 10 update FB was working as expected.

2: Immediately after the Update some part went missing.

3: Daughter-in-law is visiting and they find the FB page is fine logging on from her computer.

4: Wife still can't see the whole page on her computer.

5: Daughter visits and she too can see the whole page from her computer.

6: Wife still can't see all the page.

7: Windows 10 update gets the blame and placed on the "Endangered Species List." :D

Could be a Browser problem, given that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update completely stuffed mine (Firefox) requiring a complete reinstall.

As for crap, well I think she has Ccleaner, Mbam, and Super Antispyware set to run every morning at Start-Up. Haven't told her it is overkill because by the time they finish the housework is done. :D

1430753 2017-01-17 19:33:00 The dashboard is no good if you're not using a Microsoft account (which I'm not). Much better to use one of the many tools out there to disable the various "spying" apps/services. autechre (266)

Except of course that last bit isn't true.
It is true. You cannot opt out. MS admit this .

In defence of Google, who some like to use as an excuse for Microsoft’s behaviour, to my knowledge, they have never actually entered my computer and stolen stuff,

are you sure. :) do you have an android phone (or apple) , use gmail ?
And when they drove by your house in their google cars, they would have been attempting to steal as much info as possible from your wifi . Yes they did that
