1432254 2017-02-26 23:00:00 Anyone had issues setting up multiple profiles in Outlook 2016?

In older versions, you would just go into ControlPanel, mail and add a 2nd profile

Doesnt seem to work on 2016 : Control Panel, mail doesnt work to add a/c or profiles , have to go into Outlook itself to setup email a/c's
Cant find any option to add a 2nd profile via a/c setup in Outlook either

If I add a 2nd profile via controlpanel,mail ; Outlook2016 wont detect or recognise that 2nd profile .
?

1432255 2017-02-27 00:01:00 Haven't actually tried it, but once the New profile is created in the control panel, have you selected prompt ?

That "Should" prompt to select one.

I know you can easily create Several Accounts (got them myself)

yep, clicked prompt. The chose profile box comes up wjhen outlook starts, the 2nd profile doesnt show so cant choose it.
Not sure if its an issue with 2010 still being on the PC (and both profiles work in 2010)
Even tried "allways use" option with 2nd profile, 2016 just loads up the 1st instead

I know in the past, Ive had issues where I could add a new email a/c vie ctrlpanel, mail with 2016, had to go through Outlook itself to setup a/cs

I know in the past, Ive had issues where I could add a new email a/c vie ctrlpanel, mail with 2016, had to go through Outlook itself to setup a/cs Having office 2010 on the PC at the same tme very well could be the problem.

A short while back I was at a persons place, Outlook 2016 was causing all sorts of problems trying to load the profile, almost going round and around then finally opening, but couldn't send or receive any mail, kept on with some message about not having permission to access the profile
Wasn't till I went to do a repair of Office that I then noticed Office 2010 was also installed. The other programs, Word Excel etc all worked fine in 2016. Made a copy of the .pst file first as a safety precaution, uninstalled Office 2010 and then 2016 worked fine.

What was happening is Outlook 2016 was trying to open pst file, but it somehow attached itself to 2010, so it was getting all confused.

Got a bit of time this afternoon, I'll load up Outlook 2016 on a workshop PC and see if it behaves its self :)

i'll report back --------------

1432259 2017-02-27 04:27:00 What if you run Outlook from the Run box like this: outlook /profiles

That will prompt you for the profiles and you can create new ones from there and set defaults etc.
