1432239 2017-02-26 03:07:00 Recently we received a message from Spark to say that when shortly they no longer use the Yahoo system, then before that happened, we would need to create a Yahoo email account or otherwise lose our photos on Flickr.

However, on going into Yahoo to do this, the Yahoo website help says that for Flickr it is fine to use third party emails.

Two days ago I contacted Spark and asked them the query. Neither of the two people I spoke with knew the answer, but the one I spoke to last promised they would check it out and get back to me. Nothing back so far!

Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge about this please ?

Just for the hell of it, more than likely never use it :)

But YES you can sign into Flickr with a non yahoo email address. What they do is exactly the same sort of thing you can do with Windows 10 -- You can associate a different email address than they own, Eg: yahoo doesn't have to be yahoo. They just link your email address to their account.

As you can see, works fine on an Outlook.com

BUT as a safety precaution, anything you have on Flickr, I'd put a copy on your own External device or Own PC ( if not already there) You never know what they may do. :)

1432242 2017-02-26 21:50:00 It will be because soon your xtra email MIGHT no longer be a valid login for any Yahoo service .
Who knows what will happen after Sparks move away from yahoo mail.

Given yahoo's history, they may not get around to actually disabling that login .
Also , I vaguely remember something about needing to upgrade to the paid Flicker service, as you used to get that free via Spark, but soon no more ??
