2017-01-28 05:27:00 | Saw it on sites this morning. But you have to get it off the windows catalog site. KB3216755. It's not on Windows update at the mo. The x86 file is about 580 mb. The x64 file is over a GB! I think this update will be available next mth, but MS have put it on the Windows catalog site. Have installed it on the 2 PC's here. No issues so far

2017-01-28 10:31:00 | Wellllllllllll Downloaded it, sat looking at the desktop (where I put it) What the hell, made a restore point and in it went, no problems so far . As for "woodys post/site" the guys a dreamer . He rubbishes the insider site / builds yet they are ONLY for testing new or changed features, You ARE warned some builds / operations may not be finished, unstable or Broken . The BIGGEST problem is there are lots of idiots using insider builds that think they are RTM material, they are NOT . Many don't have a damn clue how to fault find, or fix minor problems then complain its not working . Its really easy to spot the dips and no hopers . Seen it countless times someone doesn't know how to get into safe mode, cant do simple tasks like burning a ISO file, tell someone to edit a reg setting and they cant do it . LOTS don't have a clue how to even look up an error message . One of the biggest WTF is they use insider builds for import daily computers then cry fowl when something doesn't work . MANY don't do backups, and when they lose something its everyone's fault apart from their own . :groan: There's a couple of experienced guys that jump on these idiots and tell them in not to kind language exactly why they shouldn't use insider builds . Heres a classic -- Someone moaning that extensions didn't work in Edge ?? Did you READ all of the things in the Feedback announcement? . Extensions in Microsoft Edge do not work in this build And the guy reply: No, I'm a busy person Really ?

2017-01-28 19:45:00 | Oh dear, youre just making excuses for Microsoft again. The situation is that if the original upgrade was installed correctly from an iso image, it worked fine. Then there were updates which were targeted at fixing some problem but caused others. The crunch came with the Anniversary Upgrade which screwed things for a vast number of users, especially those not at all computer savvy. So sooner or later Microsoft are going to have to accept that the Patient has a broken back, and no amount of band-aids will fix it. In the meantime I'll carry on with Linux which once set up just works. :)

2017-01-28 21:19:00 | So does Linux just pop into existence without ongoing development? It certainly DOESN"T. What B.M seems to be blind to is Linux you can get pre release builds, just like W10 insider. What he also doesn't seem to comprehend is a person can only get them if they download and install. These are also unstable, often crash, cause problems and only recommended for experienced users, which BM certainly isn't. The KB that Speedy has posted AGAIN is NOT pushed out, a person has to download it on their own accord and install. Its NOT pushed out with other updates. If you install it you do so at your own risk. In the meantime I'll carry on with Linux which once set up just works Calling BS on that. You have even posted yourself you have broken it. Still cant get a Cam going, and having to resort to XP to run it -- The shame of it all.

2017-01-29 00:33:00 | So does Linux just pop into existence without ongoing development? Not at all Whenu. I've had heaps of updates, but the difference with Linux is the updates haven't broken anything, as opposed to windows 10 where every update seems to break something. :annoyed:
