| 1431127 | 2017-01-26 22:48:00 | It's been very quiet in both the daytime and night as we have not heard the cicadas or crickets and I'm wondering why as we have usually heard them start up by now. Is it not warm enough? Everyone is saying that we're not having much of a summer. Is that the reason? | Roscoe (6288) | ||
| 1431128 | 2017-01-26 23:10:00 | I have the sound of cicadas permanently in my ears so I do not miss them. Crickets start sometime February from memory. Little blighters will no doubt be brought in by the cats. | Bryan (147) | ||

According to mister google they have a 5 or 6 year life cycle and only exist as adults for a few weeks at the end of it so if there aren't many around it's because they had a bad season 5 or 6 years ago not because of the weather this year. I think to really hear them you need to go out into the bush or a wooded area but there are definitely some around here in the city. | dugimodo (138) | ||
