But there is a message from AVG when they want you to upgrade or just do when it suits you.

"AVG Free 7.5 is on the PCW Dec/Jan disc"

Too bad that even the latest 7.5 install still needs a 4MB virus definition update after it's installed.

Yeah, upgraded my mates the other day, forgot to take around the 16mb setup file. Took over 70min to download on dial-up, then further 20min for the 4mb update!....lol. I couldnt go back to dial-up!

495761 2006-11-01 10:46:00 I have just done exactly that on dial up and AVG took about 45 mins, update took about 12 mins.

Continuous d/l at around 5.1/5.2 kB/s.

SolMiester you need to disable Reserved Qos Bandwidth on his computer.

The setting that everyone says doesn't matter.

Some of us have never heard of it.

I googled.
That showed me far more than I needed/wanted to know.

So can someone please tell me - briefly & simply:
:
1) What is it for? (Why might I want it - or not?)
2) Where do I find it?
3) How do I enable/disable it.

Yes, I have DialUp, but I won't need the new AVG.
I have free avast! nowadays & am very happy with it.
