495585 2006-10-31 10:35:00 New Zealand’s entry level price of $30 a month is among the cheapest in the world.
• For successive quarters, time after time, we’re seeing strong growth in broadband connections

That's BS. The avg household just cannot use anything cheaper than $50 a month. Most pple are going to use Telecom Xtra as their ISP so let's just conc on Xtra's plans, and no they are not Xtraordinary. $30 LMAO. $40 LMAO. 256k upload, don't get me started. Who's hows its going maybe BB are gonna be seen as a luxury product as of Sky TV.

We have all these great PDAs, cellphones, digicams, vid cams, etc., but we don't have the infrastructure to use it.

Telecom kicks your ass when you go over w/ their $30 plans and likewise with their $80 plan. If a person wants faster upstream the $50 2GB is not usable so all the plans are gonna be uncapped.

495586 2006-10-31 10:38:00 Prices for maximum speed broadband, particularly for businesses, have plummeted from hundreds of dollars to $49.95 (maximum speeds both ways)

Yeah right. Both ways MAX. That's not right unless you went for a 2GB plan. So she is telling me a business needs 2GB only. Well they can per 5GB it cost $100. Heck if I was a business I rather buy the $150 plan.

Just out of interest does Telecom allow overage charging or not? If not can a business get like 2x of $150 plans? B/c the 2c per MB overtime will be v v pricey.

Depends on the business but probably more pricey would be the time wasted by unofficial surfing ;)

495588 2006-11-01 10:32:00 She calls selling wholesale broadband for slightly HIGHER then the Xtra retail price 'fair competition'....

Not everybody is that stupid. It's very hard to work out the real truth but I'm sure Telecom isn't being as nice as she tries to make out.
