| 715795 | 2008-10-30 20:18:00 | I'll keep that in mind-are there any cases you would recommend? For OC'ing, I'll prob just OC it to about 3.6 ghz-maybe 4.0 ghz is I don't wuss out lol:waughh: Can anyone point me in the ight direction as for what hardware I would need for that sort of OC'ing? As far as cooling in cases goes, the antec 1200 and 900 are pretty good. You couldn't go too far wrong with one of them. They're not the prettiest, but they're definitely some of the best. I bought a giant aftermarket zalman job. It's done me pretty well so far. I got my Q6600 up to 3.4Ghz (from 2.4) before the MoBo decided enough was enough, temps never got anywhere near concerning levels. The best is supposed to be this (www.ascent.co.nz). But it's a little pricey. I'd suggest if it's your first build, you don't really want to be dealing with water. A good heatsink should get you to basic water cooling temps anyway. Just a bit louder. If you do get that cooler, make sure you check with the company to see if it fits in the case. |

Also, do either have HDMI? It has HDMI output-is that HDMI to HDMI?) Western Digital Caviar SE 640GB $132.66 (www.qmb.co.nz) Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OEM DVD $174.38 (www.qmb.co.nz) Corsair XMS 4GB (2GB x2) DDR2-800 XMS PC2 6400 $135.63 (www.qmb.co.nz) Antec Nine Hundred Tower Gaming Case with Side Window $204.62 (www.qmb.co.nz) Corsair 650W TX Series Power Supply $156.52 (www.qmb.co.nz) (should I U/G to the 750w version? Its about 40 bucks more) Altogether it comes to $1,658.57 with the 9800GT GFX card and $1,721.61 with the 4850 Also, could I have your advice on 2 more things please a) Would I get a faster machine for the same price if I used AMD instead Intel? b) has anyone tried that express gate thing on the Asus P5Q Mobo? And does it work? Thanks alot:thumbs::D Blam BTW does anyone know any good sites for shops in HK that sell computer parts? I'm going there in about 2 months and wanted to know if I could get parts cheaper there. In 2 months-should I still follow this configuration? Or should I get something else? |

| 715800 | 2008-11-02 05:33:00 | 4850, definitely. Stay with Intel. I don't have a P5Q, so can't help you. Are you going 64bit or 32? Good to see you're dropping the Western Digital for a Seagate. Never been to Hong Kong, so don't know. Doubt you'll get much help from others either. I'd imagine they'd be cheaper. That's what Google is for anyway. www.google.com.hk then choose english |

No. And then you have problems with warranty. Buy local. In 2 months it will all cost you more - the exchange rate still sucks. Buy now or ask again when you are ready to buy because parts will have changed too. |
