If it can be done with prepay the same day, why can't it be done with an on account customer. Sounds very fishy to me.:confused:That's exactly what confused me when I saw it. How would having the prepay phone stop the charges when they don't get realised for a few days? Or does Vodafone just wear the extra charges on the prepay ones?

495927 2006-11-05 03:47:00 This may be inaccurate info now, but a cousin of mine, when working for Vodafone a few years ago at the time wap came out, said that they have no idea of how much data prepay users use while browsing, so they effectively got it free.

I had a prepay phone then and whilst net browsing back then was basic no frills text only and, quite frankly, hopeless, I never recall it eating into my credit.

Obviously it was not publicised then, and they may have changed systems. The problem was it was a kb usage system, not a time based system like voice calls or a one off charge like texts. It may still have relevance...

You can use your mobile phone, connected via bluetooth connected to your computer, to browse the internet. This is free, as you are just using your normal ISP to draw the data from, so the computer acts as a transmitter to send the data to your phone. You have to install special software on your phone and computer to do this.

Surely this means that the bluetooth computer is in the same house or even the same room, so why would anyone struggle with cellphone internet when the PC is available?

Testing websites on mobiles. New wifi phones will be able to connect to wifi hotspots for both voice and data, making it a lot cheaper.
