716203 2008-10-31 02:53:00 This is not a question about computers but about the stuff you put in it. We run a small business selling goods on trademe. We need some accounting/inventory software that is either free or cheap. What we would like and what is out there doesn't seem to match so if you can give me some hints would be great. We want to be able to list our inventory into a form and then when we are ready to invoice it we can pick the item out of the inventory list and it calcuates the profit, GST etc. Any help?

Cheers

716204 2008-10-31 02:55:00 Xero is a NZ company that offers a SaaS accounting package - www.xero.com. It isn't free though, but people I've talked to who have used it have all said that it's a fantastic product. somebody (208)
716205 2008-10-31 07:05:00 hi, why don't you investigate some of the free spreadsheet options like OpenOffice or Gnumeric and design your own forms. I've never used them as I have Excel, maybe someone else has tried them. Ofthesea (14129)

It works around the American tax system, so doesn't do GST properly.

716208 2008-11-01 03:24:00 Cashbook complete? I have been using it for 10 years without problem.
This link is for the latest version. Can't remember hat the price was/is but not dear when I got it.
There is a free version for home accounting but it doesn't do all the reports.
