715922 2008-10-30 05:19:00 Hello wise friends! Once again I need your advice! :-)

I got a Toshiba P305-S8832 (Vista Home Premium, 3GB DDR2, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz) and this machine has two SATA bays!. It comes with a Toshiba 250GB 5400 SATA3 HDD. Now, I have two WD HDD 5400 SATA3 one of 160GB and other of 320GB.

Since the three HDD are 5400 rpm and SATA3, I am thinking in setting the WD160GB as C with only system and software, the Toshiba 250GB as only data storage and the WD320GB as external backup. Now I would like to have your advice and feedback on this configuration. I am looking for reliability while keeping performance.

715923 2008-10-30 07:27:00 Does that mean your going to clone the existing 250Gb hdd to the new going to be installed 160Gb hdd first or are you going to do a clean install of Vista to the new C drive? gary67 (56)
715924 2008-10-30 13:35:00 Yes gary67, I will do a clean installation on the 160GB and then use the 250GB just for data moving the whole USERS folder's content to it. The 320GB will go as external for backup. emmerc (12836)
