496687 2006-11-05 22:16:00 Can anybody help me . I know this probably isn't the forum for this but I gotta try . I am trying to move to the states next year to be with my girlfriend . However I need a job to go into . Does anybody know what some good options are or can help in anyway .

I am currently in the army, working in IT for the last 5 years mainly on Microsoft platforms . I also have good experience with wired and wireless communications, including HF, VHF and UHF sat comms .

If theres anybody out there who could help please email me at knightdriver353@yahoo . com .

496688 2006-11-05 23:29:00 If you speak English, don't drive on the wrong side of the road and can walk and chew at the same time, you will have no real problem finding work here as an IT for some company .

There are a lot of people here who don't speak English, cannot drive on either side of the road unless they have a water buffalo in front of them and cannot function in much more that metabolic mode who are working . . . you'll have no problems .

One relatively untapped venue is mobile-to-home IT tech and repairs for home systems . Your accent is a real plus here too . . . Americans like an accent in a tongue they can understand . :D

Wages are commensurate with your skills, but there are people here making $60,000 . 00/year US as a start-up .

496691 2006-11-06 11:04:00 Think about getting an Education diploma - schools over there have a high IT demand, apparently. I think nine months or less study is all it takes if you already have some degrees/qualifications. Greg (193)
496692 2006-11-06 17:42:00 My youngest son got an IT degree from a local community college and was recruited by two very large and competitive supermarket chain stores . He accepted both and is working furiously and almost 24-7 to meet the demands .

His salary runs over $200,000 . 00/year for each and they compete giving him new cars and vans and all sorts of add-ons to tempt him to dump the other employer . Thankfully, he is young and able to meet this physically demanding role .

So far he has managed to keep both very satisfied, flying all over the Western states and keeping things running well . Time will come however, when he will have to choose between them and go their way .

See what I mean? Work here goes begging and they throw literally tons (tonnes?) of money and freebees at him .

It doesn't hurt that he is also Microsoft certified and his knowledge of Linux is strong; many of their systems run on that base .

Funny, that . . . . .

I have a friend (again, not a stretch of my imagination) who is from Bulgaria . . . and who got his US citizenship papers after only like 13 years of paperwork . His wife got here and got her's in about another 13 or so .

He is waiting to be allowed to get his 16 y/o son into the US . . and has been waiting for 16 years for that opportunity .

I told him to get his son into Mexico, dye him a swarthy skin tone, and buy him a sombrero and jump the border and DEMAND his rights once he's here .

Oh . . . . I also told him to teach his son some important words in Spanish, like "Hola!" and "Si" and "¿Que?"

Instant citizenship is guaranteed!

. . . . might work for you too . . . just watch the NZ accent in using your Instant Spanish .

496695 2006-11-07 22:40:00 Seems like your immigration service is a lot like ours, must be code-sharing (with suitable substitutes for Spanish). R2x1 (4628)
