| 496322 | 2006-11-03 22:11:00 | To get the lines altered as we have 5 phones or more, how long does it take? To get connected to BB how long does it take? What are the billing cycles available? Do they offer refunds if you are not happy like 5 days or 3 days from connection? The modem offer is it possible to upgrade to one that is a router with wireless? With this type of modem is it still required to purchase wifi on the main PC so we can do wireless networking? Each month can I alter my plans (upgrade or downgrade)? I take it I need to request this in advance of my billing cycle rather than just do it when I know I have got over (and do it then). Of a curiosity, some says the disconnection for early termination is $90 or $150 by some other ISPs. Is there a diff term for the free modem? In otherwords if you disconnect early and pay $90 or what, do they take your modem off you as well? From your thoughts is it better to get own modem or packaged? Yeah, these days given what you can do on the net and the size of file downloads, Telecom gives me no choice so paying $50 or less for other ISPs is the way to go without an option. I just want 10GB of data at a decent qualtiy, really all I want to pay is $35 but ..... We have sky tv, now maybe BB and foreign tv channels via sky, all we need now is Sky subscription to HD and a surrround sound system :D Oh wait that wireless wifi Telecom looks nice and that cellphone BB looks nice too haha. Thanks. |

To get connected to BB how long does it take? It depends on how busy telcome is; I think it may be a week or two . What are the billing cycles available? I think the billing cycles (For Xtra at least) when every you join them e . g . : if you join them today your billing cycle would be the 4th of every month After you choose who you want to go with, ask them this & the ISP should be able to tell you . Do they offer refunds if you are not happy like 5 days or 3 days from connection? You may want to read the ISP you want to go with Terms & Conditions to see what they say about that, & maybe ask them that as well :) The modem offer is it possible to upgrade to one that is a router with wireless? I think if you want a router with wireless, I think you will have to buy it, unless you go with telecom / Xtra wireless router deal - . xtra . co . nz/chm/0,8763,204544-203643,00 . html" target="_blank">jetstream . xtra . co . nz With this type of modem is it still required to purchase wifi on the main PC so we can do wireless networking? To access the wireless network you will need a wireless card for any computers / laptops that dont have one . Each month can I alter my plans (upgrade or downgrade)? I take it I need to request this in advance of my billing cycle rather than just do it when I know I have got over (and do it then) . Thats correct; you will need to request this in advance of your billing cycle Of a curiosity, some says the disconnection for early termination is $90 or $150 by some other ISPs . Is there a diff term for the free modem? In otherwords if you disconnect early and pay $90 or what, do they take your modem off you as well? Not too sure, I will let another PressF1 members answer that :) From your thoughts is it better to get own modem or packaged? Get your own modem, as we have seen here the packaged ones can be not that great . I Hope this helps :) If you have any other questions let us know |
