| 716622 | 2008-11-02 09:03:00 | Hi I use 2 run XP on C: and Vista on D:. But i have just reinstalled my XP on C:\, the same version (media centre). However, when i restart my computer, the option of choosing which system to start doesn't appear anymore, and it automatically loads into XP. How can i use my vista system again? (i.e. have that option of choosing which system to start up) cheers |

| 716623 | 2008-11-02 09:05:00 | The easiest way is to back up any data/settings on the Vista drive, then reinstall Vista. You'll then get the option of choosing which OS to boot up. |

| 716624 | 2008-11-02 09:08:00 | so is there not a way of doing it without reinstalling it? Cuz by the looks of it, there's just one command that's missing..... other forums on the net seems to talk about a c:\boot.ini. file. But i have no idea wat to do there..... | petechewy (11678) | ||
| 716625 | 2008-11-02 09:14:00 | Download EasyBCD (neosmart.net) Install it on the Xp and it should pick up the Vista OS - set it up and when you reboot you should then have the option to boot into XP or Vista. Note: screen shots and Download are near the bottom of the page. Also have a read through These articles, step by step (apcmag.com _first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm?page=1) |
