716547 2008-11-02 01:28:00 Any one knows where is the RAM compartment of this Asus notebook? Wish to add in more RAM but couldn't find where the RAM is! :o bk T (215)
716548 2008-11-02 02:21:00 If it's not on the back under a panel, it's normally under the keyboard. wratterus (105)

It is not on the back panel. Is it a big job to dismantle the keyboard? What's the risk factor?

Apparently, can't see any screws holding the keyboard! Is there any service manual for download? Don't mind to pay (if not too expensive).

How much you reckon if I were to send it to a shop for this small(?) job?

716553 2008-11-02 04:25:00 According to the manual, its number 6 in this snapshot (www.imagef1.net.nz)

And what it says for number 6 (www.imagef1.net.nz)

Yes, Speedy, no. 6 is the memory compartment. In this case, it is hidden under the keyboard. Problem is, I can't find any screws or any of that sort to remove the keyboard. The 'face-plate' is so nicely in place that I can't see any indication or marking that I can open the cover to access the screws. I don't really want use any force at the wrong place to break the plate and can't find a replacement. A service manual will come handy, if I can get hold of it.

Thanks, Speedy for the link, it's the same as the one I have. Job done.

It's not too difficult to remove the keyboard but putting it back is hard; nearly damage the keyboard.:horrified
