I'm not sure its called a file recovery program but its
the type that gets the file back after deletion from
the recycle bin.

Thanks

You'll have to work quickly or else the file might be over written - if it is then it's not recoverable in any way.

The ISO will need to be burnt to CD first with an ISO burner or a burning program that supports burning ISO's before you can use it

No, just download the installer, then install and run it. First go to here (ntfsundelete.com) and click the first link to download the installer, then run it, tick the drive where it was (and after waiting for it to find lost files) tick the folder where the file was, navigating down the folder hierarchy.

This program recovered my entire My Documents folder after I accidentally Shift+Deleted it.....

716488 2008-11-01 22:24:00 Gary and Jwil-You're both right, if his file was originally in C drive, then burning an iso would be his best bet(installer may overwrite deleted file). But if its in D drive, running the installer would be the easiest. Blam (54)
716489 2008-11-01 22:38:00 Just be careful what or how much you put on the PC that has the files deleted. Depending on the size of the file and the amount of space on the Hard Drive and where the file was, by installing programs / downloading ISO files on the PC, you run the risk of over writing the very file you are trying to recover.

You should install the recovery software on another PC, then slave the drive with the deleted file to this PC and run the recovery like that.

True - unless it's already the slave ;)
