717667 2008-11-05 07:34:00 I'm thinking of switching to Xnet Fusion, and will probably need a new modem to make use of the VoIP service with our current phones. My current router is a Dynalink RTA770. The most recommended modem for Fusion seems to be the Linksys WAG54GP2, which is going for about $185 on Pricespy. This modem is probably the safest option, as it seems to be preconfigured for Fusion, but are there other, better options?

Cheers

717668 2008-11-05 08:09:00 You don't necessarily need a new modem - I have an older Netgear DG834 which works fine after a firmware upgrade. I added to this the PAP2 VoIP adaptor. I got lots of disconnections with no automatic reconnections before the firmware update. I am very happy with the service now. johnd (85)
717669 2008-11-05 17:58:00 I've heard about the VoIP adaptor, but as my current modem doesn't have wireless, and I would like to set up a wireless network as well, it seemed more effective to get a modem with the VoIP function built in, and get wireless at the same time.

Any other suggestions for modems?

I would stick with either Netgear or Linksys.
