717587 2008-11-05 03:13:00 Hi everyone.

I have a number of mates who I regularly send "funnies" to. These come in from various sources, and I remove all the old email addresses etc and place them in drafts ready to send on each day. Lately I have received advice that some of these emails on receipt from me are duplicated and in one case the recipient received seven of the same email. Apparently it is an intermittent problem as this duplication does not always occur. I know I am getting old and doddery, but I did not push the "send" button seven times.

Any clues as to what may be causing this problem? I am using Outlook 2007 for my emails.

717588 2008-11-05 05:44:00 The usual causes of this are 1) scanning outgoing mail with an antivirus scanner (completely pointless - if possible, reconfigure your AV to not do this), 2) a too-short send.receive interval, and 3) a too-short server timeout value.
You might consider switching to AVG, which I find not to give me any problems.

Many thanks for your reply. I use Eset Smart Security for virus protection and have now disabled scanning of outgoing emails. Reading the info in those links you listed, it would appear that this is the most probable cause of the problem.

I looked at your thread OMG! Its winter today - I think you can kiss goodbye to any grapes this summer but you can always replant some more potatoes. Very unseasonal weather at the moment for sure.

Thanks again for your help
