497828 2006-11-09 10:17:00 Hey guys,

I'm planning on going on holiday with a friend from the 3rd of December to the 15th. We're going to be starting in Auckland although I live in Wellington, and will be going all the way down the country, taking my car across the ferry.

Currently we are tentativily planning to go tandem skydiving in Taupo for $145 each from 12,000 feet, going to a place west of Picton (I can't remember what or where, my friend found that one), and a similarly forgotten thing on the opposite side of the SI than Waihola (our final destination).

We're planning on spending a good $500-650 each on this and we're young (at school), so that's a big chunk of money and I want to get the most I can out of it.

Also, any tips on saving $600 in as many weeks when I earn about that much IN six weeks and have to live too would be appreciated :D.

Thanks for the help.

497832 2006-11-09 13:47:00 Waihola..?

Do you mean Waihola on the Taeri Plain?
On the lakeshore?
Near Dunedin?

497833 2006-11-09 20:55:00 If you've only got $600 getting your car across on the ferry is going to eat a big chunk of that $300ish even more, might be time to consider sleeping in the car for your trip as accommodation wont be cheap. Pete O'Neil (6584)

I have the accomodation sorted, free all the way. The $600 is for each of us, so it's a $1200ish holiday (not a $600ish one) of which $378 is the return ferry trip.

I mean Waihola as in just south of Dunedin, Laura.
