499101 2006-11-18 08:22:00 Thats right they said that this new satellite would reduce rain fade dramatically. Hitech (9024)
499102 2006-11-19 01:49:00 Since it's geostationary, it's about 35000 km up, well above the clouds from which rain comes. Does it dangle an umbrella on a long string to stop the rain? Or does it use more advanced weather control technology? ;)

(Anyway, Sky would probably prefer them to have used some simple technology to point the antennae in the right directions.)

Pretty advanced technology, they use colour fast electro-magnetic waves to avoid the problems of the old water based system which washed out a bit in the wet. Also, the higher frequencies are smaller and more manoeverable to thread their way between the drops. :groan:

499104 2006-11-19 09:00:00 Once sky get their act together they are also going to or they may do already provide 5.1 surround sound to viewers with MY SKY from this new satellite. Hitech (9024)

Elementary, it has a laser light show on board, and they beam a pic of Theresa on the top of any offending cloud. That makes 'em scuttle off and rain on somebody else's parade.
