717544 2008-11-04 22:27:00 Hi all

I cannot seem to get these to work correctly

I can do this using filters but I don't wish for various reasons to use filters for this

Scenario is this

I get loads of email from one domain, multiple people there, as well as another domain that has the first domains address as part of its domain. They are not on the same domain or a subdomain, it's a bit confusing so it is best served with an example

Main Domain
emails come from
nt@bobsbigbits.com
mick@bobsbigbits.com
office@bobsbigbits.com
...etc

Other domain
alert@bobsbigbits.otherdomain.com
info@bobsbigbits.otherdomain.com
...etc

Now I want all of these top go into the same search folder

so i made a new custom search folder, set my search criteria as "@bobsbigbits" and it works for everything except the main bosses email, as his email address as set in the body of the email is Boss@BobsBigsBits.com, yes the capitalisation is throwing it.

All I want the bloody thing to do is put all email where the sending address contains bobsbigbits into this folder, but i can't seem to get it to work.

I cannot seem to find the correct criteria field to select "from", "email" don't seem to work, it is driving me slightly potty

Any help would be greatly appreciated

717545 2008-11-04 23:16:00 Bugger from what i have read, it can't actually be done through the UI, seems a bizarre oversight.

Anyway i have cobbled together a hack using a rule to assign all incoming mail that contains "bobsbigbits" in the email address to a specific category, and then have the search folder working off the category

If anyone has a better idea i'm all ears

And the reason i didn't want to use rules and normal inbox sub-folders was that there is no "new email" icon displayed in the taskbar when email is shunted into a subfolder of the inbox.

Cheers
