| 718521 | 2008-11-07 23:12:00 | Here is an odd ball problem. An HP PC with a DVD drive and Vista Home Premium (operating system), will not playback DVD movies and will not display the disc contents. (Any DVDs). The DVDs all playback on DVD machines. Programs tried are Windows Mediaplayer 11 and Windows Media Centre. Any solutions? |

| 718524 | 2008-11-24 00:46:00 | I'm experiencing similar issues, where DVDs (i . e . TV recordings etc) created on one recorder will not play back at all on other DVD players and vice versa - the player just keeps trying to read the disc . Inserting the DVD into a PC results in the PC treating it as a blank disc . Also, a DVD recorded on my PC will not playback at all on other players . Something very similar to . pcworld . co . nz/showthread . php?t=86837" target="_blank">pressf1 . pcworld . co . nz also by the sound of it . Am I daft and missing something so obvious? Any advice would be appreciated . |

Just some general advice: ensure that the booktype is set to DVD-ROM in the burner software for maximum compatibility, and that the recording session is finalized i . e . the disc is not left open as a multisession disc . |
