500198 2006-11-18 01:55:00 Nope, he didn't start this thread (& may give me a slap on the hand for it)

But as there are already questions about his trip in 2 different threads, it's to keep them together for those of us who want to know more than just his comp problems there.

It's for Winston's FAQs, in fact.
So ask away - while he's still catching his breath.

500199 2006-11-18 02:43:00 Good idea Laura. I propose to blog/post my travel email reports on a web page somewhere (see separate post as to best site?) so you can read at your leisure. I'm currently having a relaxing Saturday afternoon pasteing emails into Word for editing and later upload with photos.

Mind you, this is all new tech territory for me so I need all the help I can get from our many kind members. :D

500200 2006-11-18 06:24:00 Ok, since I have a Google account anyway, I've created a page for you all to browse. I suspect it is huge because of the photos but have a look. I'm also more than happy to answer questions Laura, and will get to yours later.

It might be better if I put answers on a new web page rather than here where they can get lost scrolling down.

500201 2006-11-18 06:34:00 I have an Indian friend, lives in Auckland. Came here when he was 15. He loves India.

Interestingly was talking to him the other day and he was telling me he has rather a major teeth problem, probably going to involve pulling them all out and other horrendous things - so he is going to India to a dentist.

I thought he was joking but no, he says even with the return airfare its way cheaper.

My father did something similar when he went back to China last year. Got his teeth re-done at a fraction of the price that NZ dental surgeons would charge.

500203 2006-11-18 09:19:00 Well . . . errrr . . . Winston .
What can I say but - Wow!

I should've known you'd be well-organised to enlighten us . . .

The Google page is a great idea & will no doubt answer most questions before they need to be asked .

Now to begin reading "The Travels of W"
(Subtitled - Impressions of a Lawyer from the Deep South of a Small Pacific Nation Upon Encountering the Vastness & Traditions of the Indian Subcontinent .

Having once been dealt to by an Indian Dentist, I would cheerfully run from India to NZ for treatment. In bare feet.
