718213 2008-11-10 22:05:00 I'll have to find one first lol .

Doesnt look like the shop I've just been to sells that model, but does have GB mobos

The closest would be up the road (about 130) but there's none in stock

The cheapest maybe 121 NZoczone, but it looks like their site is down .

Wherever they are

718219 2008-11-13 07:00:00 Well, got the replacement mobo this morning, installed it.

Then the bloody onboard firewire wouldnt work / start (code 10) lol

Took it back. (It WAS going at the shop). They tried everything to get the firewire to go. Still no go.

30 or so mins later, it was completely dead lol. Turn it on, everything spun, but no beep, nothing on monitor. So, in the end, since they couldnt figure out whether the CPU or mobo was dead (They didnt have any spare AM2's)

They replaced it with an Intel CPU / mobo. (It was AMD)

CPU with a 775 2.6 dual core, and a P5PL-C mobo., Not the mobo I wanted.

Since I wanted one with firewire onboard. Free of charge, since it WAS going before I sent it to them, and while they were fixing the firewire prob (I was there when it went kaputt lol)

Now, I have to try and find a PCI firewire card with a 9 pin front panel firewire connection on it. They were going to sell me a card with USB and firewire, but no way of connecting it to the front panel

Now, all I have to do is take the AMD CPU etc back, and get a refund.

And the main prob, this topic is about, it doesnt look like the mobo was the main prob. Since replacing it with an Intel, the monitor is satill doing the same thing. So, its a monitor fault somwhere

So, it took from around 3, 6.15 - 6.20 for them to screw it completely, to replacing it with an Intel system

718220 2008-11-13 19:09:00 If you dont want to stick with that intel board

I've got a gigbyte 570sli (great board) for sale am2 socket from old comp its only 6/7 months old
Its got a amd6000 in the socket at the mo.

718221 2008-11-13 19:15:00 Nah, think I'll stick with Intel. At least I wont have to install the ATI drivers all the time now

Only thing, I dont like about this is it doesnt have firewire. I'll have to find a PCI card, with the connection, for the front firewire.

And it doesnt have DVI either

And I dont know if the AMD CPU I've got still works. I'm taking it back to get a refund.

As the shop didnt have a spare AMD CPU, to see whether the CPU or the mobo was dead. BUT one of them is definitely dead.

If I have any probs, getting a refund, they'll have to ring the shop who killed it lol. Since, it was going till the shop tried to fix it
