718663 2008-11-08 08:23:00 A dos version of Seatools (www.seagate.com) is also available if you want to test the drive.

How did you format the drive?

718664 2008-11-08 08:25:00 Haha 4 HDDs in atm. The new 500GB is just one partition. The others have 2 and 3 partitions. Including my 2 optical drives and a few missed letters (wonder why, though could be reserved to my virtual drives), M sounds about right...sorta, haha.

My plan for this HDD was put all the files on this HDD and resize all the HDD partitions. But this doesnt appears to be going too smoothly.

Do did you format the drive?

I have downloaded the window version of Seatools but that needs .Net Framework 2.0 which was what I was installing before the pc frozed.

Format, yes I have, though only through the seagate wizard program. Havnt done it via windows...yet.

718666 2008-11-08 08:37:00 Was suggesting the DOS version of seatools as you wouldn't need .Net Framework.

Yea sorry was supposed to be how was it formatted, which you've answered anyway. Can't seem to spell at the moment :). Try formatting (not quick) and set a different drive letter at that time.

718667 2008-11-08 08:39:00 You should have formatted / partitioned the other hdd's BEFORE you put anything on them

Because you'll probably have to use a 3rd party program to resize them

I would partition the 500 GB. Because if it gets hit by a trojan or something, say byebye to all of it

Dont worry I knew where you were coming from with the Dos version, was going to d/l at first but, was bit too lazy to restart and do everything in do ><.

Will give that formatting a go tomorrow, prob may set this up tonight.
