499892 2006-11-17 05:32:00 Hi you all seem a knowledgeable bunch of chaps. I have got my hands on a 3000PSI waterbalster to blast my driveway with. Will this be a safe pressure to wash the walls (external of course) of my house with ? They are timber.

thanks

499894 2006-11-17 06:00:00 Practice on something that doesn't matter if you remove any coating and/or shred the surface of the timber. You can do a lot of damage if you don't know what you're doing. brig (1359)
499895 2006-11-17 06:00:00 sorry, yes it is painted, as to the type of wood no idea, it is a typical 1960's 70's timber house. The paint is in average condition seems pretty sound but is flaking off in the odd spot here and there. I am looking to spring clean the outside not prep. for painting.

thanks

499896 2006-11-17 06:37:00 Yeah, safe as houses. Just keep the nozzle around a metre away from the paint, spray at an angle, and be ready to blame the cat. Have a practice on the neighbour's letter box first though (or the cat). R2x1 (4628)

I would not suggest using a water blaster at all on your painted house.

You may remove the paint.

I used a liquid spray then just hosed it off. I can't remember the brand but it was available at Mitre10. It worked very well. The house went from a shade of grey to the original white. I think it was called 30 sec but I am possibly wrong.
