719247 2008-11-10 20:48:00 Is there any way of increasing the size of my boot partition on a xp machine without haveing to start from scratch. I have a 250gb hd, I set up a boot partition of 20gb last year. I have since realised it would have been better to have had no partition, now I am running out of disk space on drive C only 3gb left. I have just loaded a new graphics program and a lot of the files that are needed are stored on C: Saphire (14302)
719248 2008-11-10 21:15:00 Get Gparted http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ I used it to put another partition on my 500gb HD. Didn't lose any data. You have to download the ISO of it then burn it to cd.

719249 2008-11-10 21:17:00 Welcome to PF1 - One I use is Easeus Partition Manager (www.partition-tool.com) - the Free version allows you to resize partitions, where as the paid one allows you more options- ( see on Site).

Some People also use Gparted (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/) - also free.

Just make sure you back up any data before changing partition sizes as sometimes things do go wrong - better to be safe than sorry.

719253 2008-11-10 23:03:00 I've never used EPM, just downloaded it and tried the free version out cause I was having trouble with GParted, worked a charm, and the GUI is very user friendly too.

Highly recommended. :banana

You've bought the paid verison wainui? I'm guessing it's worth it just for the boot disk option. :p
