There used to be several computer fairs in Auckland(north shore, penrose, panmure). I wasted several weekend MORNINGS to visin any one of above mentioned! Gonne with the wind... Is there any computer fair left to visit in this town???? |

Please stick to our rules about being friendly (you read the rules, didn't you?) or find somewhere else to rant . Also, it might help if you actually explain waht you are taliking about when you say a "computer fair" . |

| 501681 | 2006-11-24 02:42:00 | I think he meant something like a fair I once went to in the mid-nineties - it was held in a school carpark where you paid your five bucks fee and could set up your own table with whatever goods you had to sell. It was kinda like a big public garage sale. I guess the likes of TradeMe and Trade and Exchange have made them obsolete. |

| 501682 | 2006-11-24 02:50:00 | I think the "Computer Fairs" he's referring to are those ones run out of a school or community hall where a bunch of rip-off merchants try to flog second-hand junk at near-new prices. Some of the software looked pretty dodgy with respect to licensing too. There used to be one in the Ellerslie school hall on a Saturday morning that moved to the Panmure community hall but I don't know if it's still going or not. Maybe people got sick of being ripped off. Or they prefer being ripped off on Trade Me. Mackin. Friendly S.O.B. :D |

| 501684 | 2006-11-24 03:28:00 | i have no idrea on those fairs cause i've never been to them....hence why i never replied...doh! however i do now of similar markets where there are heaps of people selling crap at crap prices. a lot of them are so dodgy its no wonder the markets have disappeared. |
