501097 2006-11-22 06:32:00 sick of "which video card is better" or "is this RAM compatible questions" where the thread starter is effectively asking everyone else to do the research on their behalf? [edit: link removed]Well there is a solution, a page with all teh answers!

this page could cut a techie's workload in half lol

501098 2006-11-22 06:47:00 This may of been posted as a joke, however PressF1 prides itself on being a place you can go to ask questions or receive help without being belittled. Owning a computer does not make you an instant expert and for many while they can help themselves often need reassurance their solutions/choices are correct. New members and visitors to this website are hardly going to feel encourged to ask for help after your comments.

I've removed your link because of the offensive URL.

Some people lack tolerance. :groan:

It did not warrant that and you were just trying to show others something you found funny. I made that post primarily so that your comments would not make others feeling silly over asking for advice or be given the perception that we lack tolerance over basic or repeated questions.

The website link I removed, that you had to use tinyurl for so that the forum censors wouldn't kick in, has been around for ages. I am sure many people have seen it before.

501105 2006-11-23 10:32:00 When one of us has a problem, that problem is extremely worrying to us. It is not always easy or quick to look thro FAQs, or do a Search.
So in our panic (so to speak) we leap into print at PF1. Yes, I suppose we should seach the forum, but it is so big now, it is quicker to ask the question, yet again. So when I am guilty of just that, please DO forgive me.
Thanks PJ

ps. In our relief we do not always say "Thankyou" I think I am guilty of that as well. pj

501106 2006-11-23 10:42:00 it's more a case of the questions which can be answered very simply in a single google (rather than forum) search, an example would be this thread here (forums.pcworld.co.nz) in which... oh just read it

and this thread was posted more as a joke than anything else - i thought the site was quite good
