501039 2006-11-22 00:52:00 Im kinda worried

I need at least 30GB

and I was thinking of SlingShot MAx/128kbps for $50 at 25GB.Their data allowance are quite cheap when you exceed your data

I heard alot of problems with Slingshot on the forums and heard no problems with orcon

I want broadband next month and I wanna know is slingshot really bad?

I just can't decided which one to use

I suppose if you getting really bad speeds on slingshot they won't refund your money correct?

It appears asking in the forum is better than emailing them as slingshot takes too long to reply

Has anyone got good speeds with slingshot? Are they worth getting?

501041 2006-11-22 09:48:00 Id recommed Slingshot. Had no probs here...although I think there are a couple here who have. rob_on_guitar (4196)
501042 2006-11-22 09:58:00 3 weeks ago I would have recommended Slingshot. However since an outage (internet; approx 1 1/2 weeks ago) I havent gotten any speeds above 200 kB/s. 90% of the time my speed is 100 kB/s or lower (down to 6 at times). I am on the max d/l with 128 up, 25GB per month.
Im not locked into a contract (as I pay the more expensive phone service (50c per 2 hours dearer)), and for the time being am hoping Slingshot (or Xtra as its gone there as well) can sort this out. However, patience is wearing thin

My next choice will be Orcon (unfortunately from my limited research, they do lock you into a contract)

501043 2006-11-22 13:50:00 I m with Slingshot with the 25GB data cap and max download speed. I m happy with the 25GB cap cos m a download junkie but the max speed that m suppose to get (which is around 6MBps according to my adsl modem) doesnt go over 2MBps. When i was on the 3.5Mbps plan, my speed showed 3.5Mpbs download (www.nzdsl.co.nz/speedtest)...... but m ok with the plan cos the 25GB is all that i care about that the moment. If you are after speed than maybe u should try telstra clear. One of my mates is on the PDQ and he gets really good speed at any time of the day. But than again that may depand on what area u are in and the distance from the exchange and the others factors.. that affect yr connection. Dont kno much about Orcon so cant say much about them.
Hope this helps.
