I don't what all the fuss is about,I would trust him with my daughter before I would with Miss Mugabe.
This nit picking is not on in my opinion.

501321 2006-11-29 04:00:00 Not nit picking at all, these are questions of integrity, honesty, and competency.

Competency is the most important aspect in an aspiring leader, as after all, no one really expects honesty from politicians :), but it is expected that they should be somewhat computer literate these days and be able to know how to read emails, and to remember acknowledging and forwarding them.

Perhaps he is just click-happy, and doesn't really know what he is doing?

Apart from some uncertainty about what was said when etc, what did he do that is so offencive.,scratching at straws me thinks.
Take how much of a fuss re painting signature, well that was all blown out of proportion.

501323 2006-11-29 06:45:00 No, he didn't do anything that I would call offensive, not to me anyway. It all comes down to credibility, the credibility of a person who aspired to be Prime Minister and to lead the country, and as I said, competency of that person.

In this day and age, it is virtually impossible to hide the truth, and to deny things. Truth will out in the end, and remember it was his own people that revealed the information that he had denied, and it is with his own people that he has lost credibility, that's why he's out the door.

Let me just repeat what Hager said:
""It is inconceivable that Dr Brash would forget about a million- dollar offer to help National be elected. "These denials are like a sequel to the story in the book, which showed the National Party staff assessing how much the media knew about its Exclusive Brethren links and devising a succession of untruthful denials to try to wriggle out of responsibility."

Also, analyse this statement from Key:

"The original Brethren letter was also addressed to National's new leader John Key, who has denied receiving it. "I don't believe I ever received that e-mail, and I have no record of receiving it. In my opinion that may indicate it was sent to the wrong address," he said. "Don has always maintained he never received the e-mail, and I have no reason to doubt him."

Now, it has been said that the emails were "extracted" from National Party computer(s) or from Don Brashes computer(s), by (disaffected) National Party members, how could that have been possible if the email was sent to "the wrong address".

If it was completely "the wrong address", then it would have bounced, if it ended up in a NP Joe Blogs inbox, then it means someone has been trawling through many computers.

The crime as always in politics is the act of denial, and the subsequent cover ups to try to justify that first denial.

Admit things straight up, and there's not so much problem.

Eg, Did you have an 'affair' ? Answer: Yes of course I did, I have hot blood in my veins.
Then many peoples verdict would be, good bloke. :)
(I'm not referring here to anyone specific)

501324 2006-11-29 07:34:00 I still say it's much ado about nothing.
I mean how easy is to deny something, only to think afterwards, oops I should have approached that another way,but alas the process has begun.

Seems you want to deny an affair, well you can't escape by saying you are not referring to yourself, ooh what a cad.

501325 2006-11-29 07:42:00 Heh heh heh, He muffed it.

Better to burn in flames then live in fear of failure.(that goes for all you god-fearing christians out there as well)

Must have been a wild ride for him, and he got some illicit snatch on the side.

Legend.

501326 2006-11-29 18:33:00 Are you saying he was caught muff diving?
He will deny that also.

501327 2006-11-30 09:00:00 Don buried himself with the "Not to my knowledge" response to any Yes/No question though doubtless this was the work of some whizzkid (guy/gal) who fed it to him. Where do they get thee publicists from? I would really like to know so if anyone knows who dreamt this up I would be really be pleaed to find out. mark c (247)
