Is it reliable, getting updates, does it clash with say ZoneAlarm, how good is its user interface. How much system resources does it consume. How customisable is it - can you set it to not scan certain folders ? etc Do the developers fix bugs quickly. 2. Does it pick up many viruses ? Thanks for that Digo,I wondered what av's were for. |

| 719843 | 2008-12-06 20:07:00 | Agree with Speedy when I had Avast I turned off the engines I did not need such as P2p as well, I was very happy with it the user interface is one of the easiest to use but have now stepped up to Nod32 as got it free for a year with the mag subscription. I personally would not go back to AVG we have 4 other comps in the house all running Avast and it has never clashed with any other program not ZA or Comodo it's just so easy to use and un obtrusive and scans in real time no need to schedule scans | gary67 (56) | ||

| 719845 | 2008-12-06 21:38:00 | I recently suffered a trojan which disabled all updates from AVG and Microsoft. Ran several different scans but could not fix the problem until I posted my HJT log and followed instructions fom SPEEDY who sorted it. Are you able to access the MS update server ? Are you getting any MS error codes ? |
