2006-11-22 01:12:00 | Bought my last bike in 1964 after a range of BSA's and Triumphs. Really enjoyed the Tiger 100 (500cc) and then the Tiger110 (650cc) which had a Watsonian single seater sidecar. Marriage, kids and the first house put paid to all of that. As I say, in 1964 with all three anchors I still wanted something to get me to work so that I could leave the Morris Minor at home with the family. Here it is: www.imagef1.net.nz A 1950 (I think) Ariel 600 cc single side valve which ran like a tractor but lasted me for years. Since then I have only ever borrowed a bike occasionally and once cared for and used a 350cc Honda which a friend left with me while he was overseas for a lengthy spell. | Scouse (83) | |
2006-11-22 01:33:00 | Never heard of Gary Bang but I never go into HD dealerships, Hate em . Much rather talk to a mechanic then a salesperson . Gary Bang ( . jpcycles . com/brand_garybang" target="_blank">www . jpcycles . com) is a third party manufacturer of better than original HD parts .

2006-11-22 02:11:00 | These olde memories remind me . . . has anyone in NZ ever seen an NSU Prinz ( . microcar . org/carspecs/nsuprinzIII . gif" target="_blank">www . microcar . org)? They were a car . . . sort of . . . but I had one, a 1959 ( . microcarmuseum . com/tour/nsu-prinz-rhd . html" target="_blank">www . microcarmuseum . com), and loved tinkering with the camshaft drive mechanism . I am sure the guy who designed that is still in a rubber room somewhere . Since nobody else is going to answer you Joe (maybe because it has four wheels and a roof, not two and pneumonia), but yes, there are a few NSU Prinz cars on NZ roads, at least there have been in the past . Any left are probably in private collections . While on the subject of old cars, I died and went to heaven this past weekend, seeing This ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Stutz-1 . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) and This ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Cord-1 . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) in the flesh and for real! I didn't even know that they existed in NZ, but it turns out there's more than one around in these parts pardner . You could get close enough to touch them, and even to drool on them a little as well . :waughh: Cheers Billy 8-{) Yeah, they had a couple of motorbikes as well .

2006-11-22 04:03:00 | Ok random question here for you Joe . . . . . . . . . . . . :illogical Is Orange County Choppers in your part of the country? must admit geography is not a strong point of mine . . . . . . . . . . . and if so / not have you seen any of there hand made pre ordered bikes? i like there tv program but sadly dont have prime channel anymore so cant watch it or beloved top gear either . . beetle Well . . . we have an Orange County in Southern California ( . visitorangecounty . net/), but alas . . . the other Orange County in New York (http://www . ocny . com/" target="_blank">www . visitorangecounty . net/), but alas . . . the other Orange County in New York (http:) and is where the show and shop called Orange County Choppers (http://www . orangecountychoppers . com/) are located . The confusion isn't just by out of country people though . . . local people go to Anaheim or Huntington Beach looking for the shop with the choppers and they never find it . Actually . . an short story for you: My uncle on my mother's side has a son who was visiting out here for a couple of weels in about 2003 . We were standing on a corner in Huntington Beach for some reason, and there were a lot of classic type cars and motorcycles being driven all over . He commented asking if there was a car show in town or something . . . . . there wasn't . His eyes got big when after he asked it the cars were fibergalss replicas and I said "No" . As he works in a body shop in New Jersey (right next to New York) he asked how the rust was taken care of . I told him that cars and vehicles don't rust out here as the weather is so mild without snow on the ground, that the cars are all original . He was flabbergasted . We have a lot of high performance, custom and just daily driver cars and bikes on the streets all the time and we get quite jaded by them all . When I get to walking around a little better in a week or so I'll take another slug of pictures as I wander around town . They'll be on the same site: . msn . com/ForNewZealandersToSee/_whatsnew . msnw" target="_blank">groups . msn . com

2006-11-22 04:33:00 | Started off with 2 wheel farm bikes then bought a 360 Yamaha RT3 trail bike(about 1973), then a CB750 Honda (about 1974) then moved to a Kawasaki Z1 900 on which I got a few adrenalin rushes, like getting into a tank slapper at 160KmH. Stopped off at the pub after that to steady the nerves. Came out of it in the gravel on the other side of the road. All my photos are in storage at the mo.

2006-11-22 07:37:00 | Nice ATV metla! are they really "death on wheels" like my parents always go on about? cause man that looks like fun :D Stupid people will get killed no matter how many wheels they travel on, Though I suport natural selection and taking risks, and even getting hurt. Basic rules still apply, same as any motorcycle. Never ride a bike more then twice as powerful as what your skill level suggests you should be on....Unless your really keen. Never ride a bike that is too large for you to manhandle, Unless your intereseted in stretching your abilty, in which case pick one thats not only large but powerful, then try and jump it...preferably over a creek or a car. Never attempt to ride above your skill level, .HA...What a joke, try ****,see what happens, next time hit it harder and faster. Pick the uglist face of the biggest hill with the crappest run-up and give her the death cane. You can always grow more teeth. And above all, You can always go faster, Twist that throttle and see, Thats how a crap rider becomes a good rider. As for my ATV, Yeah, goes like a cut cat, screams up to 12000 rpm, Ride it over montains, through forests, in the dunes, acre's of mud, hill country, rolling feilds, all as fast as possible. Not dead yet, Bound to happen one day.

2006-11-22 09:56:00 | Had 1991 ZXR250C Current 2007 Daytona 675, full race exhaust system going on next week, (+10BHP), also smaller front / larger rear sprocket and full fiberglass race fairing going on before Xmas. Look out for me at Taupo :D When I had my Z1 900 I put on a set of Bassani 4 into 1 pipes. I don't know what the actual increase in BHP was but it was certainly noticeable.
