500791 2006-11-25 20:10:00 I am assuming this would be the same between a DVD and a BD?On an SD television or HD screen smaller than 30-inches you probably won't be able to notice all that much difference from a normal viewing distance. My understanding is that you will see the benefit of 720p material in the 30-42-inch area, but you really need a screen larger than 40-inches to see the benefits of 1080p (and obviously have a screen that has a native 1920 x 1080 resolution, not 1366 x 768 as many "HD" compatible televisions have. ie. To use Sony as an example, an X series Bravia rather than an S or V series). :) maccrazy (6741)
500792 2007-03-21 00:37:00 Skype phones .
Due to my locality, i have not got a landline for a phone . It was gonna cost about $20,000 to connect up .

We had to install satellite internet broadband and then installed Skype to get Skypeout . This allows us to call out to anywhere in the world for E0 . 17/min or about NZ$0 . 0323/min (pre-purchase E10 . 00 credit) .

To allow normal landline/cellphones to call in, you need to pre-purchase Skypein credit, but this needs toll calls to an Aussie number as there is no current NZ call-in number .

A laptop has built-in mic and speakers, so you can talk to the laptop and everything operates OK . A cheap handpiece from Dick Smith Electronics ($40) will also do the job for a standard PC without built-in mic .

Cheers
