| 719527 | 2008-11-12 06:45:00 | My friend of mine wants to get these channels: www.lyngsat.com Please advise what is needed to get those channels. Someone said this may be the coverage/satellite. www.lyngsat-maps.com For example, what type of disc, LNB as he already to working sky dish, and a decoder that can get freeview tv. Thanks VTV1-6 are on Vinasat 1 Cband they are FTA and need a 2.4M dish, most use a 2.4m panel dish for it here in NZ. If your friends decoder is the NON Freeview approved one you will be fine you can connect the Freeview Dish and the Cband one into it. |

| 719528 | 2008-11-12 06:49:00 | you need to remember that while 2.4 dish will be ok, all you need is a bit of rain for the signal to drop out. the lower to the horizon it is the worse that gets due to the amount of air that the signal has to pass through. ie more chance of rain somewhere along the route. so basicly goes as big as you can afford. You are talking about signal fade from ground and atmospheric noise due to the low look angle (usually less than 10 degree) which isn't an issue on Vinasat1 as its around 30 degree elevation here. Rain fade on Cband isn't really an issue either. |
