It should be treated as entertainment and not be taken literally. Startrek, for example, was a work of fiction and very popular. I take it that your parents never had Captain Kirk beam down to their living room? More years ago than I like I saw a movie which was a Western and the hero was wearing an analogue wrist watch at a time when they were not invented. This is why, previously, we had continuity girls whom I don't see in credits anymore. Maybe ask your parents,"If I wear red underwear outside my tights and have a cape can I fly?" |

The difference is that CSI try to make it believable - they mix in elements of fact with dramatised versions of the facts, and a bit of complete fiction thrown in for good measure. Star Trek is scifi & doesn't even try to be realistic in any way. Some people hear something on CSI that they know is true (or is generally believed to be true) and they think that all the dramatization surrounding it is also true. For those of us that can take things we see on TV with a grain of salt, it is good entertainment. |

More years ago than I like I saw a movie which was a Western and the hero was wearing an analogue wrist watch at a time when they were not invented. Just a couple of continuity slips; I believe analog wrist watches predated movies, and possibly the wild west too: also without a watch, how do we know what time it was? :groan::D |

The difference is that CSI try to make it believable - they mix in elements of fact with dramatised versions of the facts, and a bit of complete fiction thrown in for good measure. the only fictional part of CSI is meant to be beleived to be the crime itself, which in the case of the gamer killers is meant to be portrayed as plausible... so stating all this "we can associate you ip directly to your email" stuff is just silly and many people who dont know any better will think it is fact |

| 501722 | 2006-11-24 15:40:00 | I really liked the CSI: Las Vegas, which I cannot find in the listings (www.cbs.com) right now, as it was closer to home for me (about 2 hours away from here). Busted my bubble with the post that Star Trek was fiction...do ya mean there're no real Tribbles? :stare: (en.wikipedia.org(TOS_episode)) ........and, yes! Even though I have not had Kirk beam in here, I am sure there are Klingons in my neighborhood......the Feds are really worried about all the illegal aliens in our town. |
