2008-11-09 23:40:00 | Does anyone have a better solution to removing the Documens folder from the start menu? I recently reformatted and am setting things back to where they were. The last time I reformatted I used TweakUI to get rid of the folder but I've downloaded it 3 times and every time the tweakinf. file is missing so I can't run the program. I also read that you can click on Properties after you right click the Start button but that option isn't there. Its just annoying, things get added to it and it just gets bigger, lol. Thanx in advance if anyone has a solution. Remember, its Winme. | stephan08611 (10225) | |
2008-11-09 23:44:00 | Right click the Task Bar / properties/ Start menu Tab / Customize Button / Advanced - Scroll down Locate the folder items you dont want displayed and select " Dont Display this item" - OK then OK again and the folder will disappear. | wainuitech (129) | |
2008-11-10 00:12:00 | Edited to above - just noticed it was ME OOPS! :o but from memory its the same path anyway. | wainuitech (129) | |
2008-11-10 04:52:00 | When I click on Properties on the Taskbar the only options I have are General and advanced. The only option I have in Advanced for Documents is to expand it. There is no customizing. Do you know of any powertoy equivalent to Tweakui? Thanks for responding. | stephan08611 (10225) | |

OOPS- didn't see the edit Dont have the time to check at the moment ( got a job to go to) - but look at These instructions (www.daniweb.com) ( scroll down towards the bottom) they are for XP, but since XP was built off of Win2000 the menu may be the same. | 719270 | 2008-11-11 01:50:00 | Thanks again wainuitech, my 'puters running like new. Thinking back, I kind of think Yahoo Messenger had something to do with all my problems. For no reason the Messenger icon would replace the word START on my start menu as soon as I signed in. When I signed out, any other thing I opened would take Messengers place on the START button. If I didn't open Messenger at all, all was well. It was all downhill once that started. I just Googled Yahoo Messenger virus and was amazed by all the nasties that can be associated with it. Anyway, thanks for your time and help. | stephan08611 (10225) | ||
