2008-11-14 19:18:00 | Anyone out there having problem with SATA HDDs when using Ghost 2003? Ghost 2003 works great with IDE HDDs but just doesn't work with SATA HDDs; always stuck just before the backup process and could not even return to Windows. | bk T (215) | |

2008-11-15 19:29:00 | have you tried setting the sata to imulate ide in the bios Have tried all configurations available. It loads Ghost for DOS OK but stuck before it starts to perform the backing up and I could not return to Windows. I think it doesn't recognise SATA HDDs.

2008-11-15 23:43:00 | Are you running it from within windows or from a live CD, as I run Acronis live most of the time as it's seems to run quicker and more stable than from within windows when I make an image or am doing a HDD clone | gary67 (56) | |
2008-11-16 01:11:00 | stuck before it starts to perform the backing up and I could not return to Windows. You aren't supposed to run it from within Windows. You boot off something then run Ghost.

Is there anything mentioned in the manual that we aren't supposed to run it from within Windows? I have been running it from Windows (IDE HDDs) to create backup images without any problem. Only SATA HDDs that have problems. Maybe I should try to boot off to DOS and run it. |
