720242 2008-11-14 18:24:00 In my Excel 2007 I had charts in several tabs. Today no charts are visible in Excel on my laptop. Not charts previously made and not new charts I attempt to create today. No charts are visible in any of the Excel files on this computer.

If I send the file to another PC the charts are visible. Believing the problem is in this laptop : 1) I Ran change and Repair from the "Add or Remove Programs" application. - no charts. 2) I uninstalled Excel and reinstalled Excel -- still no charts visible.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?

720243 2008-11-14 19:23:00 Welcome to PressF1. :)

Have you installed MS Office 2007 service pack 1 and any other updates for Office?

What version of Excel does the other computer use?

Did you try to create a chart from a newly created spreadsheet (rather than an existing spreadsheet)?

Office 2007 has a "Run Office Diagnostics" tool. You can find it under Excel Options > Resources. Run that and see what it comes up with.

Yes, all available updates are installed
(MS Office 2007 service pack 1 and any other updates for Office)

All 3 of my PCs use Excel 2007.

Yes, I attempted a chart from a new spreadsheet and nothing.

The first thing I ran was the Office 2007 "Run Office Diagnostics" tool.

Would it make a difference if I did a reboot after the uninstall and then did the reinstall? I think I will try that next.

BTW I did two new things since I saw my last graph on this PC: I upgraded all 3 PCs from7.5 to 8.0 AVG Internet Security. And I started using Briefcase for some files to back them up on my desktop.

Thanks for your ideas ... keep them coming.

Don't know where the problem came from but charts are back after a 3 step process:
1) Uninstall Excel
2) Reboot Computer
3) Reinstall Excell from original disk - not from the Control Panel, Add or Remove programs.

Bottom line - it did help to reboot before reinstalling.
