720092 2008-11-14 00:10:00 Just done a search of the threads for some benchmarking tools, mostly what I found was quite old so,

does anyone have or recommend any benchmarking tools for comps preferably free but if have to put hands in pockets will try and not get gorse prickles in them.

3DMark06 is what I use for benchmarking the whole PC there is a free download about 525MB if I remember correctly

720095 2008-11-14 03:01:00 PC Wizard is a sys.info. tool combined with bench mark tools. It can be run as a stand-alone from CD which is a useful feature for such programs, as all its dlls are loaded into its own directory:
