| 720001 | 2008-11-13 04:59:00 | Hi, I have recently been asked to fix my friends computer as it seems to have a virus/problem. A few things you might need to know: they had LimeWire ( I say had as I told them to remove it asap), they haven't updated their computer since like ever, lol, as they didn't even have IE7 or anything. They also run a version of Norton. Its also quite a good computer, eg. 2GB RAM, duel core, etc. Ok, so you log on and in the system tray (or what ever you may call it), all these icons come up continuously, so many that it reaches the other side of the screen. The icons appear to be opened envelopes. Then all these messages from Symantec come up saying all this BS about proxy, webmail and stuff. Like some of them say stuff like Webmail error, crash, bank error. And if you read the errors details it says that there was an error with your webmail server and your email could not be sent to "email address", and like some of them have stuff to do with banks and companys. Because the majority of the emails werent common, eg. hotmail, xtra, etc. they were .com's as in business's. But yea, does anyone know what this could be. Any help apprecciated. Thanks. |

From my Sig download all the programs, install and run in full scan modes, NOT quick scans . Disable system Restore: Install Ccleaner first and run - Malwarebytes / Spyware terminator / Spybot S& D/ Super Antispy . Also get Trojan Remover (http://www . simplysup . com/) NOTE: run Trojan remover after Ccleaner, then the others . Down load Hijack this ( . trendsecure . com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis" target="_blank">www . trendsecure . com) run it and select Save a log - copy Paste the complete log back here . |
