| 719974 | 2008-11-13 03:24:00 | Does Vista x64 use the same product key as the equivalent x86 version? Reason is, I want to upgrade to 64 bit Vista Home Premium and was wondering whether anyone here has a Windows Vista x64 disc, or whether I should buy another license for it, to get 64 bit Vista. TIA |

TIA I got a couple of NFR copies from MS when vista first came out - 64 & 32Bit DVD's - I used the 64Bit key on the 32bit install, went fine. BUT you can only have it on 1 OS at a time, cant have 32 on one PC and 64 bit on another PC, you can have both on the same PC by having removable HD's that can swop over or Dual boot- the key will see the hardware as the same and work perfectly. |
