502058 2006-11-25 11:21:00 Hey all,

Just received my latest PC World today (actually yesterday - too busy watching 24 to write earlier :D ). There is a competition in it on the last page where you can txt to win a surround sound system. I thought I would try it (I usually don't txt for things) so sent the txt away and got a reply - "The code you txted is not recognised by this service". I checked to make sure that I had the right code and correct number - all checked out fine. Anyone else tried this yet?

Ok then, that should about do for this message now - wonder if anyone is still up at this time

502061 2006-11-25 21:37:00 The last page is the "Dumb Terminal", with jokes, scams, etc.
Is that where you saw the competition?

502062 2006-11-25 21:59:00 Yep - was on the last page (the Dumb Terminal page), but doesn't seem to be a joke. May be part of the 200th issue thing, but I have seen other comps there before... This is the Dec/Jan issue by the way in case any are looking for it in the Nov one - this has the DVD with Flight Sim X demo on it (yay).

Just off now for a ride up the lakes (Omarama/Kurow way) on the TransAlp - nice day for a ride :D

502065 2006-11-26 00:06:00 I'm back - what promised to be not *too* bad weather turned into hail and nasty stuff . . . Only got to Duntroon and had to turn back . Even wearing full leathers/protective gear, hail is VERY painful at 100km/h! Got back home with water in the boots, cold water under the jacket, and even into the touring pants

Oh, and Zippity, the TransAlp is my bike - Honda TransAlp 650, V-Twin - you can see one here: . motoring . co . za/index . php?fSectionId=911&fArticleId=2189396" target="_blank">www . motoring . co . za

Glad you explained the TransAlp is a bike .

(Zippity's not the only person wondering about a train at Omarama/Kurow . . . ), though surprised about hail etc . in North Otago .
Lovely sunshine here all day until a light shower of rain a few minutes ago .
