721116 2008-11-18 05:57:00 I have a leased laptop (Ministry of Education) with Win XP. My eTrust Antivirus updates don't happen. The log always says 'The automatic signature download was unable to successfully download all the signature files'. I don't think its successfully downloaded updates during the 9 months I've had the laptop. Any help would be appreciated. Rossini (12327)
721117 2008-11-18 06:02:00 uninstall it , its not that great, and get something like avast or nod32. there are plenty of free ones or if you are willing to pay nod32 is excellent, i use it myself.

cheers

721120 2008-11-18 06:30:00 +1 for NOD32, they do really good educational deals.

I'm working at a school at the moment and have found all the computers are completely infested with Malware despite having ETrust. IMO the MOE only provide it as its dirt cheap.

If your using the likes of schoolzone you will probably need to set proxy settings to allow eTrust to update.

.

Because. regardless of what antivirus you use, you need antispyware as well.
At least 2 antispywares is the rule.

721122 2008-11-18 20:54:00 I used to work for Datacom who provides the MOE ICT helpdesk, eTrust is okay, check the proxy settings and also check to make sure there is a ftp url to CA, as well as ur schools distrobution server. aidanmaz (7180)
721123 2008-11-18 20:54:00 Yea know that one pctek its just a matter of convincing the school that they need better protection, hopefully this scare will get a reaction :stare: :stare:. stormdragon (6013)
