721124 2008-11-18 05:27:00 Hi guys,my son has an ipod that he got off trade me a few weeks ago,and he has been loading it up with music and everything seemed to be all ok,but now every time he plugs it into the pc it says it is corrupted and he can't do anything with it.Can't load more on it or delete anything.Yet it still plays songs fine.Any ideas of how to either fix it or wipe the whole thing and start again? Thanks

Peter

721128 2008-11-18 06:56:00 what version of itunes do you have>? GameJunkie (72)
721129 2008-11-18 07:08:00 Might be better to try re-setting first before trying to restore. Less drastic but might achieve the desired result !

721130 2008-11-18 08:58:00 Hi guys, none of these options are much use as when you plug the ipod in it just says the itunes library can't connect as the ipod is corrupted,so we can't access the restore or format feature.Any other ideas. It's an ipod photo(30G) by the way. Peter Coleman (597)
721131 2008-11-18 09:11:00 does it show up in my computer? GameJunkie (72)
721132 2008-11-18 09:16:00 Maybe this will help (resetting doesnt require that you connect it to the computer)
support.apple.com
or this (especially the third/fourth items)

721133 2008-11-20 09:14:00 In the end we reset the whole thing.Wiped everything but there was nothing else we could do.My son now has to reload all 1700 songs back on to,and its taking hours. Can we copy the whole thing to another drive once he has finished,as a back up
