720827 2008-11-17 07:46:00 If so, what, and where?

I maybe getting another mobo.

Only prob is, it supports 8 GB, BUT in order to get above 4 GB, all sticks have to be single sided lol :badpc:

I just cant win ! :annoyed:

Thats for DDR2 800 ram

720828 2008-11-17 10:09:00 I don't know.. but it sounds unlikely or rare and expensive. Agent_24 (57)
720829 2008-11-17 11:07:00 Never even heard of it. qazwsxokmijn (102)
720830 2008-11-17 12:42:00 I didn't know it existed

Wouldn't 2x 1GB work better than 1x 2GB because of dual channel?

720831 2008-11-17 19:34:00 I have 2 x 2 Gb sticks in mine plus 2 x 1Gb. not sure if they are single or double though. Corsair DDR3 1666 Bantu (52)
720832 2008-11-17 19:52:00 I'm running 2x2GB at the mo (but its double sided (8 chips each side)

I could get 2x1GB, but then whats the point in getting a mobo that can go to 8 GB, if you get 2x1GB sticks?

720833 2008-11-17 19:57:00 Kingston ValueRam, DDR2-667 is single sided, just had a look. pctek (84)
720834 2008-11-17 20:04:00 Cool.

Ok. Hmm thats pretty hopeless. Just checked the qualified ram (what SHOULD work with the mobo)

No mention of any brand of 2 gb ram, thats single sided

720835 2008-11-17 20:16:00 Excuse my ignorance but its not a space issue is it. Q man (14225)
720836 2008-11-17 20:17:00 Does single sided vs double sided make a difference? is it the physical width of double sided ram that makes it not possible to fit? Or is it heat or...? I thought it was all the same...:stare: utopian201 (6245)
